Rumble Pants IX: Sweet Sixteen
What is Rumble Pants? Well, the Panteon has decided to play at god once more. We take a few select comic characters and pit them against one another for our amusement, but we figured why keep the fun all to ourselves? So we decided on a format that would require your participation and will hopefully provide amusement for you at the same time. The format is a single elimination tournament with weekly rounds decided by you, the reader. Just keep reading to help decide the ultimate fate of some of your favorite comic characters!
The overall champ was a close call in the Halloween round, with John Constantine smoking (pun intended) the B.P.R.D. by a mere 7 votes! And now it’s time for an all-new round.
As always, we’re starting at the Sweet Sixteen stage. This is one we’re calling the losers round. Not because these characters are losers, in fact there are a few favorites in there… but the common thread is that everyone in this round was eliminated in the first round of their previous competition. We’ve tried to match them up pretty evenly in their second bouts, so you’ve got martial artist vs. muscle memory, deadly woman vs. deadly man, a leaper vs. a pouncer and two animal-themed villains facing off on the villains side and a diminutive battle, the battle of the bearded ex-Air Force pulp archetypes, a pair of purple-clad archers and a couple heroes who don’t mind killing facing off on the heroes side of things. As always, it’s up to you the reader to whittle down the ranks.
As always, though, it isn’t just about who would be most likely win in each fight; it’s about who you want to win each fight and advance to the next round. Click the bracket thumbnail above to the side to see how the tournament has progressed so far. These polls will close just after midnight on Sunday, November 25th.

QuoteI think Hawkeye vs. Deadshot would make one heckuva fantastic crossover miniseries. Who can we get on that? It needs to happen.

QuoteGammora vs deadshot. Good stuff. I like both but one a Jim Starlin character. She wins.

Does anybody love it?

QuoteWhat the hell is The Owl and why is he scary? I read a bit of the Daredevil stuff he was in but I never figured out where he came from or what made him a scary villain? Is he a recent creation or some old timey bad guy brought back for giggles? Gah! Deadshot should own this round. Wouldn’t Deadshot vs. Ollie be a better match up (and obviously a more likely one)? For one, both are spoiled little rich boys and, like Batman, I would wonder if Deadshot will pull his punches with GA as well.
