Rumble Pants VIII: Final Four
What is Rumble Pants? Well, the Panteon has decided to play at god once more. We take a few select comic characters and pit them against one another for our amusement, but we figured why keep the fun all to ourselves? So we decided on a format that would require your participation and will hopefully provide amusement for you at the same time. The format is a single elimination tournament with weekly rounds decided by you, the reader. Just keep reading to help decide the ultimate fate of some of your favorite comic characters!
Most of the fights went down quick and dirty in the last round, except for one… the battle between Ash and Faith. They went back and forth, and at one point were separated by a mere 3 votes! Finally, though, Ash won out, with a slim 11 vote margin. Now he’s up against Vertigo’s resident bastard John Constantine, while the Haunted Tank tries to overcome the heavily favored B.P.R.D.
As always, though, it isn’t just about who would be most likely win in each fight; it’s about who you want to win each fight and advance to the next round. Click the bracket thumbnail above to the side to see how the tournament has progressed so far. These polls will close just after midnight on Sunday, November 11th.

I was ticked Ash was losing by such a large margin until I realized only 16 people had voted. I’m sure Ash/Constantine will prove to be closer than the current tally shows.

QuoteAs I voted I thought, “Ash’ll win by a landslide, let me throw a few votes ole Johnny’s way.” Little did I know…

QuoteWow, BPRD beating Haunted Tank? I’m fine with that, of course, but it’s surprising.

QuoteI’m not surprised by Ash loosing I mean he barely beat Faith, and Constantine is more popular than both in comic circles I would think.

QuoteYOu know I don’t even know waht comic the haunted tank is from…but I am voting from every round. He can you not vote for something like that. It would be a shame if it lost.

QuoteI voted on the basis of who I’d actually like to see go mano-a-mano in a comic books series. Written by Garth Ennis and drawn by Mike Mignola, Constantine versus the BPRD would kick ass.

QuoteHaunted Tank showed up in its own stories in the early Sixties in G.I. Combat, by DC. It has appeared in a few places in minor roles since then, most recently in Kurt Busiek and Tom Grummett’s short-lived but cool Power Company book, I think. There’s a Showcase volume out for Haunted Tank that’s great.

QuoteNo way was I voting for Ash, he beat my girl.
I too would like to see Haunted Tank go all the way…..but BPRD is just so strong.
